Policies & Code of Conduct

ASM Global, their employees, and officials shall not be responsible for any accident or injury that might occur to persons, horses, or property, nor will they be liable for any personal articles lost, stolen, or destroyed.

 All persons, parents, or guardians must sign a waiver before handling, riding, or participating in any equine activity.

All dogs visiting the facility must be kept on a leash of no more than six (6) feet at all times. If a dog is misbehaving and creating a disturbance, the handler/owner of the dog will be asked to immediately remove the animal from the grounds. Improper dog conduct could result in the termination of agreements. Boarders, trainers, and guests must clean up after their dogs.

Unlicensed drivers are not permitted to operate motorized vehicles of any kind, including (but not limited to) golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on all grounds.

 ASM has a zero-tolerance policy for any type of improper conduct, including but not limited to: verbal or physical abuse, threatening behavior, inebriation, inappropriate sexual advances, unlawful or unwelcome harassment, theft or inappropriate removal or possession of property, and any other conduct deemed by the Company, in its sole discretion, to be improper or likely to endanger the safety, harmony or good reputation of boarders, trainers, guests, the Company or its staff. Inappropriate conduct, as determined in the Company’s sole discretion, by boarders, guests, trainers, service providers, exhibitors, etc., may result in immediate termination of any and all contracts and or relationships between such person and ASM Global.

 Children under thirteen (13) must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times while at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.

Boarders and trainers are responsible for the conduct of their guests, including but not limited to family members, significant others, trainers, farriers, veterinarians, or any others entering the facility at the direction of the boarder or trainer.

 Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas of the Los Angeles Equestrian Center and Griffith Park.

———

Alcohol not purchased on-site is strictly prohibited in all areas of the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, including parking lots.

———

ASM does not allow abusive training practices or horse handling, as determined at its sole and absolute discretion.

———

 Soliciting or advertising on the facility is prohibited.

———

ASM, as the manager of the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, reserves the right to prohibit access to boarders, trainers, riders, and guests who are careless to the health and safety of other horses and riders, disruptive to the enjoyment of fellow riders or any other behavior that is considered detrimental to the safe and harmonious enjoyment of the facilities in the Company’s sole and absolute discretion.

Please note: The policies, rules, and Code of Conduct outlined herein are subject to modification at ASM Global's discretion without prior notice.

Equine Requirements:

  1. Proof of Flu/ rhino vaccine (administered within six months) will be required for all horses boarding or visiting.

  2. Proof of current negative Coggins will be required for all horses boarding or visiting.

  3. Stallions will be permitted at the Center at the discretion of ASM. Owners must adhere to strict guidelines set forth by ASM or face termination of boarding contracts and immediate eviction in the event of a breach that may affect the safety of others determined by ASM. All boarders interested in boarding stallions must fill out a stallion waiver.


Stabling:

  1. Horses shall not be brought onto the property without prior approval and submission of necessary paper completed with management.

  2. Stall assignments are made by management, and all stall changes must be approved. Trainer changes will result in stall changes.

  3. Not more than one horse shall be kept in a stall at any time.

  4. Occasionally, it may be necessary to move a horse’s stall location temporarily or permanently. Boarder understands that management has permission to relocate any horse at any time to a comparable stall.

  5. When unattended, all horses must be secured in their stalls using panel stall guards (made from webbing or other materials) or metal gates. A single stall chain or guard alone isn’t enough. When horses are unsupervised, gates must be closed and/or doors must be secure.

  6. Storage of equipment, hay, feed, or other personal items is prohibited in the barn areas, including aisles. ASM will work with each boarder to approve/provide a storage solution.

  7. All barn aisle breezeways must remain clear for emergency horse movement by removing any obstructions, such as tables, chairs, and golf carts, while items like tack boxes and hay bins can remain in place for use.

  8. Please notify management of any health concerns, wounds, scrapes, cuts, or lameness found on, around, or in a horse. The Company will inform the horse owner when/if any of the same are observed.

  9. Cameras are permitted to observe your stall and horse. Cameras are prohibited from being focused on any public areas, including, but not limited to, barn aisles, riding arenas, parking lots, or other common areas as deemed by ASM. Security will be on- site 24 hours a day.

  10. The center has the right to move/request that a horse be placed in a designated quarantine area when the health and safety of other animals may be in jeopardy.


Facilities:

  1. Horses are not to be turned loose in the arenas or in other areas of the grounds except designated turnouts and sun pens. Horses turned out must be supervised at all times.

  2. No more than one horse can be turned out in one area at one time.

  3. Sun pen use is limited to one (1) hour.

  4. No improvements or changes can be made to stalls, buildings, facilities etc. by boarders or trainers. Improvements or changes can be requested through management and require approval. All improvements or changes requested will be billed accordingly.

  5. Please clean up after yourself and your horse, including, but not limited to, equipment, trash, and manure in public areas, including, but not limited to wash racks, cross ties, arenas, and barn areas.


Riding & Arenas:

  1. Arenas will be watered and dragged on a recurring schedule. Horses may not be worked during arena maintenance. Management will communicate the schedule and make every attempt to accommodate lesson schedules and requests.

  2. Close gates when entering or exiting rings and arenas.

  3. Please respect fellow riders in the arenas by keeping a distance of at least one horse’s length from other horses. When overtaking traffic moving in the same direction, please pass to the inside with plenty of clearance. Never assume another rider can see you.

  4. Horses are not to be ridden at more than a walk, in the barn areas.

  5. All jumping must be supervised by a trainer approved by ASM.

  6. The facility reserves the right to use arenas and facilities for events. Management will communicate these events and provide advance notice to all boarders and trainers.

  7. ASTM-SEI approved helmets with properly adjusted (snug) harnesses must be worn while mounted at all times by minors. ASM strongly encourages adults to wear ASTM- SEI approved helmets when mounted as well.


Parking and Storage:

  1. Parking is only available in designated areas. Vehicles are prohibited in the barn aisles unless approved by management for loading or unloading purposes.

  2. Trailers are to be stored in designated areas. Current charges will apply and will be billed with boarding dues monthly. Trailers may be moved without notice to owner. Owner must provide trailer information on their boarding agreement.

Griffith Park Hours Los Angeles Equestrian Center:

Per LAMC code 63.44B(a), site hours as a park property for public access are - Closed to the public from 10:30pm - 5am every day. Los Angeles Equestrian Center Boarders and Trainers are permitted to access the center 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be able to care for their horses.
